This can be adjusted if you want a shorter game. I'm almost in winter now and have my crops done, i have chickens, copper stuff a house extention and i've seen some crafting stuff that needed batteries. So now i'm up to 7 rods, and will reevaluate when i next see a storm sometime in year 4.
