Screw the aspect ratio, as long as it didn't look as ridiculous as a skewed picture in ms paint. The black bars to maintain aspect ratio was only prevalent in the 4th iteration of the franchise up until gears 5. This did not happen with our old xbox.

In ww2 split screen was really well made, so they cant say that they cant do it in bo4. I'm a strong independent gamer who needs no tutorial. We've adjusted the settings on the xbox but just can't get it to look like it used to.

About the black bars that appear on the split screen (local), this is not a bug, but a desire of treyarch who prefers to display black bars to respect the ratio depriving players of a large part of the screen.unless there is a possible patch in the near future (unlikely) you will have to be violent and agree to play with black bars around the screen even if you don't. I am having issue with gpu scaling (aspect ratio scaling) when pairing rtx 3080 with lg c9 running at 4k (3840x2160) 120hz. The bigger issue with splitscreen is the lack of 60fps, at least on the base consoles.
This Means Competitive Modes And Horde Cannot Be Played In Split Screen.
